TURN's VEC racing is a form of racing which is meant to test the durability of equipment and endurance of participants. Teams of multiple drivers attempt to cover a large distance in a single event, with participants given a break with the ability to change in between stints.
1. I think this event was ran very smoothly and a lot of bases were covered. I've spent years now doing these races and I finally believe we are at a great standard for endurance racing on Forza Motorsport. The rules and application is very driver friendly and I love that the lag out rule offers teams a chance to still compete. It really does increase the retention rate for all teams and drivers. The loss of mileage is not enough to warrant giving up and still offers people a fighting chance.
2. The standard of driving was excellent. Having all competitors in the same party chat was paramount to achieving this successfully. I really have to applaud the LMP2 and GT2 drivers for their awareness, even when they were in the middle of their own battle.
3. We really need to be getting exact distances for all drivers. Rounding up to the nearest mile marker on the results page is not the way forward. We need to get all distances and then get first to go to the next mile marker.
4. Decrease the amounts of pits required in LMP1 because the Nissan is not selected. Infact, take it out of selection. When weighing the pros and cons, it really is not needed.
5. People should NOT be joining lobbies or parties mid race. This caused lag outs yesterday (with our team) and I know of other teams who have been affected at the TORA events. Anyone doing so I feel should have their teams penalised. Make it very clear and broadcasted to all competitors that this is NOT allowed. Why they're joining parties and lobbies is questionable anyway.
6. People need to know the pace lap speed. We had two different speeds yesterday.
All in all though, this was awesome and you guys are onto something fantastic.
Pace lap was indeed a bit hard. I was leading the GT cars in my stints, 80 from the exit of the last turn and the LMP cars seemed to accelerate, drop to 80 juuust before the line and then go.
My only complaint is that starting order being mixed around every other stint was annoying, just find a consistent starting order "style" I guess

I think Qual can be finished up on Thursday so that the Lobby assignments can be made on Friday. That way hosts can be sorted and streams can be sorted that way.
I echo Chris' comments on exact mileage.
Starting procedure- I think for the 6h races it'll be a lot easier to maintain efficiency since there are less stints to worry about. Pace lap speed also needs to be specified (80 mph seems to work fine, though 60 may be better for a track like Silverstone).
I enjoyed it and it was organized good but I came across some issues.
The pace lap speed needs to be checked. I was at the back of the GT field and I was doing a lot of the pace lap flatout just to keep up. I doubt many people did 80mph across the start/finish line.
We need to know the hosts before race starts. Preferably 1 day before race day. Not knowing who hosts (primary and backup) is really annoying. In stint 4 we waited almost an hour to find the correct host. LER Visionthing hosted it eventually but he was not aware he would be hosting Lobby B stint 4. But huge thanks to him for hosting it. I spend many messages to different people to find out who would be hosting it. If this was to be posted in the doc or the OP in the race day thread it would make searing a lot easier.
Doing 4 pit stops necessary is not needed in the GT field. I easily could have done a 3 stopper in the McLaren causing me to gain a bit more places in it. I think that's what makes the car stand out more. And you can easily do a test to find out which car is the best on fuel for your driving. Seeing the LMP1s making 7 stops is also on the high side. I think if you can make it with 1 stop less than other people you should be rewarded for it.
On the positive side the passing of LMPs was really nice done as we could all hear each other in the party chat. Made things easier to communicate.
24h Le Mans was my first experience with Turn. Overall I had grate time even though my pace was not too competitive. All drivers I have raced with took care to make race as clean and as safe as possible so we did not have any major incidents during my stints. However I have to say I was really disappointed how the race started to me. Basically lobby did not wait for me to start stint 4 after restart. I was in the lobby since first invite and I have started first race. After restart due to lobby bug I had to reconnect finding it difficult to join. Had to restart X box and I made aware my party chat. Unfortunately when I joined the lobby again race was just loading and even though I messeged drivers that I have problems solved I did not any response. Sadly most stunning thing to me was chat reaction on Twitch when I said I have solved the issue. Writing in capital letters about no restart by team mates watching their drivers seemed abit unfriendly. I know it was my connecting issue and I know you were all eager to race or spectate however I doubt you would behaved same to less new community member. Beside pitty start I had grate fun during whole race meeting always friendly people after all.
I have to agree with Freheliaz with the pits. I tested extensively and found that the Porsche simply cannot do more than 5 laps alone. In the race I would end 6 laps with 2% fuel. I've seen others manage that as well and it all comes from smooth, consistent driving and some a little drafting to help you on your way. It really took the fun out of the accomplishment when I learned about the rule
1. Very disappointed with the 7th stint. We waited for the results in stint 6 which completely contradicts the use of a non double stint. It was the silliest thing I've encountered and we were late starting consequently. Why are we changing the rules mid season again? We should be going off the results (overall from the doc) and not waiting for results from the previous stint. It caused a delay.
2. On that note, we had a shorter stint which screwed some teams over and helped other teams. I've been told that 'it evens out' but that is completely incorrect. Our Red Sonja team lost out but when does it even out for us because it didn't. It was one of the most disappointing things I experienced in the event.
These two things, apart from our two lagouts, really took the shine off a marquee event for me. The consistency/continuity of the series is in question.
