As this was your first race, I don't think you should have been disallowed from taking part in the 2nd heat. I wanted to talk to you briefly but it was decided by the admins in the room (there were five, not just Stingray who spoke to you) who decided it was in the best interest of everyone to have you sit race 2. Anyway, what's happened has happened.
The AI had absolutely NOTHING to do with any of this, since AI only take over your car AFTER you've finished your race.
Random note- make sure your livery complies, because I'm fairly certain you did not have the required TURN URL logos on your car. If you did, good. If not, read the livery rules and make the appropriate alterations to your livery.
Your pace was not too far off, but your consistency was. Replay showed you sliding all over the track and destroying your transmission, effectively ruining your own race. Suggestion- swap clutch to A button if you haven't already, or, turn off the clutch. You lose time doing this but it's better than grinding your transmission to death.
Pit exit- I will give you the benefit of the doubt about not calling your pit exit, since we were in game chat and not everyone could hear each other. However, it is the responsibility of the person pitting to ensure they make a safe exit (see 2016 Code of Conduct here:
http://forums.theultimateracingnetwork. ... 2246#p2246 for more info). Just like merging onto a highway, if there are cars coming and you do not have enough time to merge safely, you need to stop and wait. You were in last place, the only car a lap down, and you jumped out onto the track, onto the racing line, and ruined TheOneNamedJack's race. That was gross negligence on your behalf and I fully expect Jack to send a Stewards Inquiry about this.
Most important bit here-
If you are a lap down, you are no longer fighting for position and should yield to faster drivers, i.e. blue flag conditions. You didn't do that, not at all. You prevented other drivers from lapping you, which is explicitly written out in the 2016 Code of Conduct as a punishable offense. I have the videos saved where you can obviously tell the lead three (LMR Hybrid, F4H EGGY, myself) were behind you, battling for the win. You should have let us through, which you definitely did not. You held all of us up and brake checked us so that we all ran into each other. I have the video on my phone, which I will upload when I get the chance. You should have pulled hard left into the run off area in that final double-apex right, instead you nearly ruined our three races. We are lucky to not have sustained damage.
Last incident- I was trying to lap you, meaning you should be giving me additional space. You botched the entrance to that same double-apex right (2nd to last turn) and when I moved to your inside, you cut down on my line though my car was definitely there. Again, the video is on my phone, and will be uploaded when I have the time. It conclusively shows that you stayed in the middle of the track and continued to move right, clipping my front wheels and wing, then spinning out. I was able to avoid being tangled up in this, otherwise I would have submitted a Stewards Inquiry against you. To recap, if you're a lap down and someone is attempting to lap you, move OUT of the racing line. You can see when there are cars passing you for position due to your distance meter, and a majority of these incidents were with cars lapping you, placing you at fault.
Final point- This is not an "F4H" decision- Five admins, Cyphon68, LER VisionThing, TheOneNamedJack, Hey Stack, and F4H Stingray, were racing last night. It was the collective decision of these five to have you sit race 2 due to the number of incidents you caused. As admins/stewards, teams become irrelevant, and decisions are therefore made objectively. As a new racer, it is of utmost importance for you to read and understand the racing rules and Code of Conduct. Being "off the pace" for a first time racer is a given, we've all been there. However, the incidents you caused last night were ALL avoidable, so taking time to learn the car a bit better, as well as firmly reading the CoC to know what to do in certain situations, such as exiting a pit in traffic or giving the leaders room as you're going a lap down, will benefit you greatly. You will learn these things by experience as well; don't let one bad night sway you from continuing on.
Thanks,
Diablo
