For those interested, I've started a league on DR.
It's called the "Gravel Gran Prix", and will focus on 2WD cars and occasionally Group-A cars, visiting Wales, Greece, and Finland. It'll be scheduled around VEC events so nobody will miss a round. Each round will be a week long with 6-10 stages covering 2 days in-rally.

Bullet Points:

Gravel Gran Prix (GGP)
-2WD, Group-A
-Wales, Greece, Finland
-7 days to complete each round
-6 to 10 stages.

STARTS MAY 1st. (5/1/16)

Or search for "Gravel Gran Prix" through the game's menu.

First round is a 8-stage jaunt around Wales in the 1960's cars.

Hopefully it's not going to turn into the Alpine Invitational.

I plan to, though Group A might get dropped. (for some reason I keep doing my Sir Colin McRae impression with the Escort RS.)

I hope you don't mind a larger group. I sent an invitation to everyone on my Friends List that plays Dirt. I probably should have asked first.

If it's okay, anyone else can do the same thing by going to the Game Hub page, and finding their list of friends that share the game.

I've got no problems with a larger group. The more competition, the better in my eyes.

Next time I won't flip my Mini when I clip my rock and hit a sign. Destroying three tires was not in the plan.

Next Season has 2 events: 1970's cars at Greece, and 1980's at Finland.

REMINDER: Season 2 starts this Sunday after the TURN VEC Spa 6-hours on 05/15!

I have discovered that the maximum number of stages that can be ran in a single rally is 24 stages. How would everybody feel about a 2-week-long rally that visits all 3 countries using a single car class in a single "event"?

I don't know if I like that. For example, if someone blows a single corner, they're out for the whole event. Would it be part of an ongoing championship? Or it's own championship altogether? I feel that 24 stages, 3 countries, 14 days, in a single championship event would be better as 8 stages, 1 country, 5 days, completed three times back-to-back for each country, as three separate championship events.

I'd be for a continuation of the '60s championship; let's hit the other countries. Or, let's have a whole new championship in a different class, perhaps a championship in each decade.

A single rally in 24 stages does seem a little gruelling... I think I would prefer it to be done in a 3x8 format. You could then just make a spreadsheet here on the forums to accumulate all of the times if you wanted? As for the class, I'm easygoing and am happy to run most things. 60's is my favourite (you may have guessed...) but I'll give anything a good go!

I think what'll likely happen is that each month will be a specific car class, and the next time the '60's is done it'll be the Mini for the first week, followed by the Alpine, and the 3rd round will have all 3 cars used.

As to the 24-stage rally, I may create another league just for those and do the service areas every 3 or 4 stages instead of the current way. At the moment I have them set to every 2 short stages, and prior to each long stage. To stay in contention to win the 24-stage event everybody will have to remember that it is a long rally, and by going all-out you take that risk of killing your chances. The Ye Olde point-to-point rallies were like that (Safari for instance) where you had to take care of the car over that long period of time.

EDIT: however Dirt's "monthly" rallies do that as it is. It's kinda where I got the idea from.

I don't have a problem with long 24 stage rallies, even with fewer services. In fact, bring it on.

But I do think you should take into consideration that it's both nice and realistic to have shakedown sessions before each new location. I like to utilize shakedowns to dial in my car before a rally and get used to the terrain. So, if it was my choice, we'd do 24 stages at Greece before moving on to Finland. I know this would require repeating stages, but that is also realistic. Besides, there are time/weather conditions to change up.

I like how you're setting this up, and it's leaning pretty close to what I've been looking for. There are plenty of brief "laid back" leagues out there, hardcore ones are tough to find. :)
