TURN Ginetta 24 Cup - Rules & Regulations

Welcome to the TURN Ginetta 24 Cup Season 1

The TURN Ginetta 24 Cup Season 1 will feature 4 circuits around the world using the Ginetta G40 Junior and Ginetta G55 GT4 in a multi-class Championship and feature one 20 minute qualifying session and 2 multi-class sprint races in a 8 week, 4 round championship starting on the 9th August 2015. Real weather data has been collected from the real circuit locations. This championship is a VIRTUAL 1 day event but split over 8 weeks 4 rounds 8 races(2 Races per round). Round 1 at 12pm/3pm, Round 2 6pm/9pm, Round 3 12am/3am and round 4 6am/9am(See calender for more details). Whether you tackle these conditions in the faster, more powerful GT4 or the Nibble little GT5 Junior, that's up to you!!

Teams
There will be a Team Championship.
Team will consist of 2 drivers in identical Cars/Class.
Teams must use the same livery & livery number for every round throughout the championship.
Privateer entries are allowed.

Qualifying
Invites will be sent out 15 minutes before the start time of 8PM. Once in your lobby, select your car & livery. Once everyone is ready to go, the host will ask everybody to ready up and qualifying will begin. There will be 20 minutes of qualifying each week with 30 minutes set on the clock, with 10 minutes left on the clock, finish your lap and pull over at Turn 1. Once qualifying is finished, the host will take a photo of the times and leave the lobby. You will then receive an invite once all the times are in order and lobbies ready to go.

Race Rules
Once times are in order, You will receive an invite to your race lobby and Xbox Live Party. GT4 & GT5 will be in different parties.
Race 1 grid placement is decided by each drivers best time in qualifying
Race 2 grid placement is reverse finishing order from the first race.
Each race begins with a rolling start safety car. Pole Position will become the safety car for the parade lap. The GT4 race starts when the GT4 pole sitter exits the final corner on the Parade lap. The GT5 class will drop back slightly, and the GT5 race starts when the GT5 pole sitter exits the final corner on the Parade lap.
There will be NO MANADATORY pit stops but you can pit if you have damage or need fuel.

At TURN there will be a 3-tiered penalty system implemented in all official races.
Any Driver penalized will be on Probation for a set amount of time to coincide with each Tier.

Tier 1 Penalty: Minor infraction
4 Point Penalty + 4 place Grid Penalty to be served at the start of the next race + 3 race Probation

Tier 2 Penalty: Moderate Infraction
8 Point Penalty + 8 Place Grid Penalty + 6 race Probation

Tier 3 Penalty: Serious Infraction
12 Point Penalty + 12 Place Grid Penalty + 1 race Suspension + Additional Punishment at discretion of the stewards


1) In-Race Offenses

1.1) Offence: Jump Start

1.1.1) On a rolling start, any driver who accelerates too early or goes above the target speed before the announced time and consequently gains an advantage because of this.

1.1.2) On a standing start, any driver who leaves the grid too early and consequently gains an advantage because of this.

Standard Penalty: 10-Second Penalty added to driver's race time


1.2) Offence: Cutting Corners

1.2.1) Cutting of the circuit with the whole car which results in time and/or positions gained. This can be a chicane or hard turn where the inside has been cut by a gap of the whole car or more.

1.2.2) Using a run-off area which is delegated an illegal run-off area, with the whole car or more, which results in time and/or positions gained.


1.3) Offence: Pit Entry

1.3.1) Cutting the pit entry to the circuit with the whole car which results in time and/or positions gained.

1.3.2) Wallriding into the pitlane at full speed in order to maintain as much speed as possible


1.4) Offence: Dangerous Circuit Re-entry

1.4.1) Re-entering the circuit from the pit exit procedure onto the racing line, which hampers the speed or direction of a following competitor

1.4.2) Rejoining the circuit after going wide which causes other drivers to take evasive action and/or contact

1.4.3) Rejoining the circuit after an incident or crash which causes other drivers to take evasive action and/or contact

(*) Evasive action defined as the following car having to let off the accellerator considerably, applying the brakes in an area where he would not normally, or steering off the racing line in a forced fashion.


1.5) Offence: Blocking

1.5.1) Protecting a position by moving over on a car already committing to a pass, as related to the racing line. You may not move over onto a competitor which forces themoff the circuit, or creates contact.

1.5.2) Running wide on a corner when your competitor is fully on your outside, which forces them off the track with contact


1.6) Offence: Illegal Position Gain

1.6.1) Failure to give back a position that was gained as a result of contact which affected the cars race

1.6.2) Creating contact with another driver which causes them to lose control and not giving the place back

Reminder: If you hit another competitor off, give them back the position as soon as you can, in a place which is off the racing line and does not hamper the race of others.


1.7) Offence: Causing Contact

1.7.1) Causing contact with a competitor in front, either by missing braking point, or failing to react in time to car in front, which results in contact.

1.7.2) On track action that initiates contact which may result in damage

1.7.3) Moving over from the outsite to inside (or vice versa) which initiates contact with fellow driver in close proximity

1.7.4) Creating contact which results in opponent losing position and/or track time.


1.8) Offence: Unsportsmanlike Conduct

1.8.1) Driving backwards at any time during Qualifying or Race sessions

1.8.2) Exhibiting behavior which can be classed as Childish and not in the interest of fair play on track

1.8.3) Application of the E-Brake or any game action which can be classed as ‘messing about’

1.8.4) Swearing prolifically and consistently over the game chat channels.

1.8.5) Discussing politics during race conditions

1.8.6) Exploiting any in game glitches or faults which may be used to benefit a racer


Once again, the TURN Code of Conduct and the Penalty Code is subject to change at any time.
